This is the music of
Starting in the late 1970s and peaking
somewhere in the 1980s, the new wave rock movement brought
some new interest to my ears,
with music that had more adventurous and unusual melodies,
harmonies, and structures.
I was inspired by the likes of The
Residents, DEVO, Wall of Voodoo, Talking Heads, The B-52s,
Gary Numan, The Stranglers, and many others.
So I started a band.
This band—mysteriously hard-to-find,
playing only now and then—existed only to the end of the 1980s.
Those in the Ventura, California, area in
the 80s may have vague recollections of the band, which I
called Boy
Genius.
(For more info on the name change, and a
look at a few of our performances, click on the name.)
In more recent years, I thought YouTube
would be the perfect place to reincarnate my idea, only now as
a VIRTUAL band!
After a careful search on the internet for a name not being
used by ANYONE ELSE, I chose the name: DR. THEOREM.
